Why JES LEGAL exists
Handled well and early, workplace law is one of the most powerful tools you have.
I started JES LEGAL to give clients a lawyer who is with them at every stage of the employment lifecycle - not just when a dispute arises.
At JES LEGAL, our advice is practical and commercial, whether you are preventing a problem or faced with a dispute - clients thank us for our care, attention to detail, rigorous advocacy and commercial consideration when it matters most.
In workplace matters, generally the earlier you take advice, the more options you have. But if you reach out at the dispute stage, we're with you all the way helping you work towards a resolution.
Background
Employment law, with a commercial instinct
I am an employment and workplace relations lawyer based in Toowoomba, with a practice built primarily around acting for employers, and in select matters, I act for employees. I hold a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Applied Law, with a double major in Business Transactions and Family Law.
Before workplace relations, I practised across other areas of law, including civil litigation and family law. Prior to entering the profession, I spent years in a family-owned manufacturing business working across Human Resources, management and digital innovation in manufacturing, retail and franchising.
That commercial grounding shapes how I practise. I know what it is like to manage a team, process payroll, plan and implement systems and programs, and make the hard calls, which is why my advice is considered and practical.
Today, my work is focused on employment law: workplace relations, compliance, claims in the Fair Work Commission, work health and safety, workplace investigations, wage and pay compliance, workplace relations advisory, and privacy and AI in the workplace.

The law is complicated; my advice isn’t. I take the time to listen, ask the questions that get to what’s really worrying you, and focus on practical, timely advice you can act on.
Commercial
I was involved in business before I practised law, so I understand what it’s like to manage a team, work toward compliance, and make the hard calls. This shapes the advice I give – practical and commercial with the legal foundation.
Early
Wherever possible, I’ll help you work through issues before they escalate. If representation is needed in the Fair Work Commission or the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2), I can represent you (subject to leave where required).
Straightforward
Straightforward advice, even when it isn’t what you’re hoping to hear – that’s what being in your corner means.
What drives me
People carry a lot
Business owners carry the risk, meet payroll and create the jobs that keep our communities and our economy running. Employees carry the weight of what happens to them at work. Both deserve a lawyer firmly in their corner, and that is who I enjoy acting for.
Beyond the law, I’m guided by the conviction that people matter. Employment disputes – and the everyday situations that arise in business – affect real people, not just paperwork, and that is never far from my mind.
It’s the same conviction that gave the firm its guiding principle: people focused, resolution driven. I treat you the way I would want to be treated: with care, consideration, and in a timely way.
